The Green of My Hometown

I love the green of the earth, for it is full of vitality; I love the green of nature, for it is accompanied by birdsong and fragrance; I love the green in my dreams, for it is inspiring; but I love the green of my hometown even more, for it represents prosperity and abundance.

In the warm and sunny month of March, the tea leaves in my hometown are not to be outdone, as they stretch out their tender leaves and bask in the rain and dew, emitting a rich and fragrant aroma. In the terraced tea fields, rows of well-trimmed tea bushes resemble green steps, winding up the tea mountain. During the tea-picking season, tea-picking girls carrying tea baskets shuttle between the tea gardens, their fingers dancing up and down as they move like graceful butterflies. They work hard to pick the tea leaves, while joyfully singing: "I offer you a strand of tea fragrance, sweetening friendship and intoxicating the heart. Where can one find such a fragrance? It's Anxi Oolong Tie Guan Yin..." The melodious singing echoes throughout the tea mountain, conveying the voice of the people and the prosperity of the tea region.

Tea gardens truly undergo a transformation every year, with significant changes every three years. Standing on the green land of my hometown, I feel as if I am surrounded by a vast sea of green. The entire tea garden is adorned with the shiny tea leaves, like an emerald embedded in the earth of my hometown. Under the bathing of sunlight, it appears even more lush and vibrant. As I gaze at the tea bushes on the mountainside, I fall into contemplation: In recent years, the tea industry in my hometown has developed rapidly, with an expanding plantation area, improving production techniques, and continuously improving tea quality. Tea has become the pillar of economic development and a source of wealth for farmers in my hometown. The numerous small villas, cars, and home appliances now present in my hometown reflect the contribution that tea has made to its economic prosperity.

I love you, the green of my hometown. You bring purity to humanity, and spread fragrance throughout the country, and even the world. Although you remain confined to the mountain, you bear no resentment and still greet the rising sun with a brilliant smile.
