Looking back at Eighteen |
|
If I could go back to being eighteen again, I would do the same things I have
done now. At least I would know that I made the decision without any regrets.
Turning eighteen is a significant milestone that marks the transition from
adolescence to adulthood. It's a threshold between innocence and maturity, and
the moment when one starts to navigate the world with more independence.
At eighteen, we should understand the value of filial piety and appreciate the
hard work our parents have put into raising us. Before reaching eighteen, we
might have been reckless, selfish, and impulsive, often not considering the
feelings of others and acting on our emotions alone. But as we grow up and
become adults, we must learn to think of others and plan ahead before taking any
actions, rather than acting solely on impulse and passion.
During our youth, we may have had countless shining dreams, but as we age, those
dreams often fade away. And the choices we make as adults are not always the
same as the fleeting thoughts we had when we were young. Very few people can
hold onto their childhood dreams until they come true. For example, the author
Jiubadao had always wanted to be a cartoonist, but later, he ended up directing
the movie "You Are the Apple of My Eye," which tells a story of pure love
between high school students.
As we grow up, our childhood dreams inevitably fade away.
Now that I am eighteen and have become an adult, I need to think more about
things that matter, and I need to do more things that can benefit society. It is
for the development of our country in the future, to make it stronger. |
