A Friday Afternoon Adventure |

At four o'clock on Friday afternoon, my former classmate approached me with a
serious face and asked, "Do you have anything to do this afternoon? Let's hang
out at your place!" I replied in a pretentious manner, "Wonderful, let's embark
right away!"
We drove to my house together and went to play basketball out of boredom. I have
to admit that I haven't played basketball with him for a long time, and his
skills have improved tremendously. I was fully engaged in the game with him,
unaware of the impending darkness and surprise.
As the sun began to set, I had to bid him farewell, but he had a mysterious look
on his face and said, "Wait a minute, let me show you something!"
He took out a pen-shaped flashlight from his bag and waved it in front of my
eyes. I was a bit surprised and curious, so I asked, "What is this?" He teased
me, "You'll see soon enough." He pressed the switch, and a green beam shot out,
reaching the sky. The beam was so bright that we could clearly see its
trajectory.
I became a little impatient and said, "Is this just to prove that light travels
in a straight line, like we learned in physics class? It seems boring."
He panicked, "No way! Don't go yet, wait till I finish showing off!" He then
took out a piece of black plastic and aimed the beam at it. Smoke came out in no
time, and soon, the black plastic was pierced through!
"How about that? Impressive, right? But that's not the coolest thing yet! Watch
me show you my ultimate trick!" My classmate seemed very proud and pulled out
some matches. As soon as he rubbed one against the beam, it immediately lit up!
It was incredible!
After performing this amazing laser flashlight show, my classmate went back
home. However, I was deeply fascinated by the laser flashlight.
