The Charm of Afternoon

People often say that the morning is the most important time of the day, and that it is the best time to start one's day. However, I personally believe that the afternoon is also a wonderful time of the day. It is a time to rest after lunch and to bask in the warm sunshine. It is a time to relax and unwind, and it can be truly enjoyable.

In my childhood memories, I remember being forced by my parents to take a nap in the afternoon. I was always a bit too energetic and didn't want to lie down. However, as a child, I had no choice but to reluctantly comply. But my mind would not calm down, so I would often sneak out of bed quietly after my dad started snoring, and search for picture books in other rooms. I would then read in the warm sunlight and gentle breeze of the afternoon. Perhaps it was the gentle afternoon sunshine or the sedative effect of the lunch, but I would often doze off with the warmth of the sun covering my body.

However, there are many ways to spend the afternoon, not just reading. When I got tired of reading, I would play with my Barbie dolls, do some handicrafts, or even play pranks (of course, only when my parents weren't looking). In this way, I wove the threads of my happy memories into a scarf that was scented with the sun, and I kept it in the wardrobe of my memories.

As time passed, I gradually no longer needed to take a nap in the afternoon. The afternoon became my free time, and I continued to keep my childhood habits. However, I now prefer to quietly read essays in the afternoon. Essays seem especially beautiful in the afternoon sunlight and gentle breeze, and they bring a sweet touch to my heart. Perhaps this is the great charm of the afternoon for me?
