My Beloved Motherland China

As the wind blows, a lonely leaf floats in the embrace of its mother. It has traveled through four seasons and now rests in Yunnan. Today, that same leaf has transformed into 1.3 billion descendants of the Yellow Emperor, after billions of years.

China, my ancient mother, has endured countless changes throughout history. From Pangu separating the heaven and earth, to Nüwa creating human beings, from the Yellow Emperor to Yu the Great controlling the floods, and from Qin Shi Huang's unification of China to the invasion of the Eight-Power Allied Forces, as well as the heroic resistance during the Anti-Japanese War, China has finally stood up and became the People's Republic of China. My dear motherland, are you doing well?

China, my ancient mother, nurtured us with her sweet milk from generation to generation. Yangtze River and Yellow River, are you doing well?

China, my ancient mother, stretches from the Yalu River in the east to the Pamirs in the west, from the Mohe River in the north to the South China Sea in the south. Are you doing well in your 9.6 million square kilometers?

China, my ancient mother, went through the Eight-Power Allied Forces invasion, the Beijing Treaty, the Nanjing Treaty, and the First Sino-Japanese War. These humiliations and compromises made China rise again and become a powerful country in the world. Mother, I am proud of you.

Our yellow skin, black eyes, and black hair make us beautiful. Our 56 brothers and sisters are one family. You taught us to unite and only then can our motherland prosper. We will never forget the Anti-Japanese War and the Nanjing Massacre. China, my mother, have you woken up?

Leaving behind the past glory and humiliation, you have led us to a new century. As the five-starred red flag rises, my heart is filled with emotions. We have dyed our national flag with red blood, poured every drop of blood into the sea of the motherland, buried our remaining flesh and faith in the yellow land, and let them take root and sprout.

Motherland, my beloved mother, are you doing well?
