In the vast expanse of love around me, one emotion stands out as the most
profound - a mother's love. Just like the sky is the mother of stars, the
earth is the mother of little fish, and the soil is the mother of seeds, my
mother is a woman who deeply loves me.
On a bright morning, it was my birthday, but my dad was away on a business
trip, and my mom, as usual, had left for work after preparing my breakfast. I
felt a little disappointed, thinking that she might have forgotten my special
day. But I reassured myself, thinking, "No, my mom won't forget my birthday.
Maybe she'll surprise me at lunchtime."
As the minutes ticked by, noon arrived, but my mom still hadn't returned. I
felt hopeless, so I decided to go to the stationery store downstairs. The kind
store aunt asked, "What would you like to buy?" I replied, "I want to buy a
greeting card." She led me to the counter, and I chose a heart-shaped card with
three cherry blossoms printed on the cover. When I opened it, a beautiful song
played, and the card had a delicate fragrance and a smooth texture. Just as I
was about to leave, the aunt called me back and said, "Take this wind chime as
well. I wish you progress in your studies." I thanked her and returned home.
Upon entering the house, I noticed a flicker of candlelight. I walked in, and
there on the coffee table was a large cake. It had two chocolate layers and nine
candles on top. My mom came out and said, "Darling, happy birthday!" Before I
could make a wish, she said, "I know what you want - you want your math grades
to blossom like flowers." I replied joyfully, "Mom, you understand me so well."
As the night grew deeper, I found it hard to sleep. Today was not only my
birthday, but also the day my mother suffered. What had I given her in return? I
realized that a mother's love is great and selfless. |
