1.   "Make sure the gate is shut properly, Julia," she said.
2.   "Don't slam the door!" he shouted at Eddie.
3.   "Where have you been all this time ?" he asked me.
4.   He said to her, "Don't show the letter to anyone."
5.   "Don't spend all your money on clothes," they warned her.
6.   "Did you enjoy yourself at the seaside ?" she asked me.
7.   "Drop that stick at once !" he ordered the little boy.
8.   "What were you doing in that place ?" he asked me.
9.   I warned him, "make sure the snake is dead before you go near it."
10.   "When did you start painting this picture ?" I asked him.
11.   "Can you do me a favor ?" she asked me.
12.   "Do you know if Mr White is back from the office ?" I asked Janet.
13.   "Will you speak a bit louder, please ? I can't hear you," he said to me.
14.   "Did you return the book to my sister yesterday ?" Richard asked me.
15.   "Have you anything further to say on this subject ?" they asked him.
16.   "Don't you feel tired after the long walk ?" we asked them.
17.   "Oh !" exclaimed my sister. "I've forgotten to bring my books !"
18.   "I can't dance," he told us, "but I can sing."
