As the warmth of spring melts away the winter chill, the
earth awakens. The spring breeze signals the arrival of new life as the
green shoots of grass stretch upwards, displaying their vitality.
During the rainy season, storms arrive unannounced. Dark clouds fill the
sky, and pedestrians hurry along the streets. However, the grass continues
to stand tall, resilient and unyielding. Suddenly, the downpour begins, like
a rushing waterfall from the sky. Everything on the ground endures the
baptism of wind and rain. Even the mighty Yang tree can only be seen with
leaves falling. The morning glory, struggling to climb the wall, now sways
in the wind, devoid of life. However, the humble grass, with its strong life
force, holds its ground in the face of the storm. When the rain stops, not
only is it unharmed, but it also turns even greener after being washed by
the rain.
Grass may not have the elegant fragrance of orchids, the graceful posture of
willows, or the delicate appearance of pear blossoms. However, it possesses
tenacious character and an indomitable spirit. In every lonely corner, one
can see the tenacity of the grass growing in cliff faces, in crevices, and
in deserts. On the deserted plain, each blade of grass stands alone,
experiencing the ebb and flow of the seasons, but persevering through it
all, growing again with the spring breeze.
There are many people like grass who persistently fight and never give up in
life. The famous scientist, Stephen Hawking, suffered from the debilitating
effects of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which left him with only a few
fingers able to move. But he loved science and found ways to study it. Each
time he communicated his research findings through his computer, he was
known worldwide. And for the athletes participating in the Paralympic Games,
some of them are deaf, blind, or confined to a wheelchair, while others have
severe intellectual disabilities. But they persevere through their hard work
and efforts, proving themselves capable of standing atop the podium with
pride and respect.
When God closes a window, He opens a door. We should all learn from the
resilience of the grass, never give up, and persist through life's
challenges with unwavering determination. |
