The Beauty of Overlooking the World |
|
There is beauty everywhere in life, whether it's the stunning natural
landscapes or a person's smile; whether it's the bright moon in the hometown
at night or the bustling yet lonely cityscape; whether it's the silhouette
of a hard-working individual or the innocent laughter of a child - all of it
is scenery. Some scenery can stay etched in our memories forever.
One weekend evening, my best friend found a beautiful place and dragged me
along to a nearby residential area. She said that if we took the elevator to
the top floor on the 29th floor, we could see most of Guangzhou from the
rooftop. Although I was a little afraid of heights, I had always wanted to
overlook the whole city, so I followed her to the rooftop.
The moment we arrived on the rooftop, I was stunned. It was dusk, and the
setting sun was like blood, dyeing the sky red. The distant mountains were
shrouded in a layer of golden light. Everything looked so quiet, and
occasionally there was a gentle breeze. I saw the Canton Tower standing
quietly, gazing at us tenderly. The glow of the setting sun gradually
dissipated, and the city lights shone brightly. Looking down, the streets
were crowded with traffic, but everything was orderly and fast-paced. I
tried to find the location of my home, but it was so small from above. I had
to tilt my head slightly to see my school, which surprised me. I had always
thought the campus was not small, but from this perspective, it seemed
unfamiliar. The whole campus was visible at a glance.
Suddenly, I felt my own insignificance and the vastness of the world.
My friend patted my shoulder and said with a smile, "So, how is it? Isn't it
beautiful? I think you are almost mesmerized." I also smiled and said, "Yes!
It's beautiful. It's the first time I've realized how big Guangzhou is!" My
friend nodded gently, and we both laughed. Looking at her smiling face, I
felt like we were isolated from the world, like spectators watching this
world.
I couldn't help but feel that I had been like a frog in a well before,
thinking that the world was only as big as what I had seen. But now,
standing at a higher place, I realized that the world is actually vast.
However, I know that in the future, I will see even more beautiful scenery. |
