It was that time of the year again. RAA Primary
School was holding their annual food
___1___ funfair.
Every year, the school would organize this event ___2___
the hopes of raising money for one of the local
charity organizations. ___3___
year, the proceeds would go to an orphanage.
Lam's class had two stalls. One sold caramel and
buttered popcorn ___4___
the other was a game stall. All the pupils in the
class were being rostered to help man the stalls.
This way, they would still have a chance to go ___5___
the fair and play at the other stalls.
In the month that led ___6___
to the event, everyone in class was busy with the
preparation. They prepared posters and banners to be
placed all around the school in order to advertise
their stalls. Also, they had to find a sponsor for
the popcorn machine which they were planning ___7___
rent. Everyone chipped in and helped out in every
way ___8___
could. Besides raising funds for the orphanage, the
school was also holding a competition to see which
class within each level was able to raise the most
funds. This made it even more fun and exciting for
the pupils.
On the day of the fair, the weather was in ___9___
favor. There was no rain and the sun was not too
hot. At the beginning, there were not many people
who came for the fair. However, ___10___
noon, the school was packed with people. Besides the
pupils themselves, their families ad friends also
came for the event. Even ex-pupils of the school
returned to lend their support to the school. The
music that was blaring through the speakers added to
the jolly atmosphere.
Lam went around playing games at her friends'
stalls. She managed to win herself a teddy bear and
some stationery. She also bought some homemade
chocolates from one of the classes. They were
delicious. |
