I'll have paid off my mortgage !!!
Dawn I can't wait for 2010. It can't come too quick for me.
Erica Life's too short already. You shouldn't wish it away like that.
Dawn If you had a mortgage as big as mine, you'd say the same. It takes a huge chunk out of my salary every month.
Erica So what's so special about 2010 ?
Dawn That's when I'll have paid off my mortgage. The end of 25 years' slavery to the bank !
Erica Well, I can see your point. A big mortgage is a heavy burden. But you'll own a huge asset at the end.
Explanation :

If you pay off a debt, you give someone all the money that you owe them.

Example :  It would take him the rest of his life to pay off that loan.
