Picking up an Irish ___1___,
I was attracted to a certain Irish tale of
Leprechauns -- smart, devious little things that
would resort to all forms of ___2___
in order to escape. Leprechauns, though fictitious
characters, nevertheless provided me with an hour of
pleasant reading in that stuffy tour ___3___
where I was waiting for my turn to be served.
As I leafed ___4___
the pages, I was transported to the world of fairies
and wee folks, away from the reality of a gloomy,
rainy day.
I chuckled to know that the Leprechauns are ___5___
shoemakers in fairyland ! For all their magic, they
had to make a living !
Smartly dressed in small green suits with waist
coats, hats, and buckled shoes, they are known to be
rather harmless unless their pots of gold are at
stake. Leprechauns would stoop to ___6___
to keep their lifetime savings safe.
Blessed with magical powers to use if they were
ever ___7___,
the Irish Leprechauns would then use this magic to
grant three wishes to anyone who could catch them.
My ___8___
piqued, I leaned back and continued reading. I
wanted to find out where these mythical creatures
kept their treasure pots. A few lines down and I
found that they placed their life fortunes at the
end of a rainbow.
It is said that anyone who could catch the
elusive Leprechaun would get three wishes as well as
the pot of gold. ___9___,
a word of caution, the Leprechaun is known to be
really tricky. You may just find yourself wishing
for ___10___
you do not want !
A loud shrill signaled my ___11___
and I placed the brochure down reluctantly. Half an
hour later, I smiled. I had just booked a ___12___
holiday to Ireland. I was off to the land of the
Leprechauns.
As I stepped out into the ___13___,
I looked up into the sky. The rain had just stopped
and a beautiful ___14___
had just appeared. I smiled. I wonder if there was
any pot of gold at the ___15___
of it. |
