on her desk, clearly exhausted. She had just
finished tons of schools work. These were ___2___
all over the floor. She could not understand why her
teachers gave her pages and pages of similar
exercises. She was just interested in finishing up
the voluminous pages without understanding anything.
The teachers in school seemed to love handing out
work to them. Jenny understood that this was her
final year. She was going to sit for a ___3___
examination this year. The teachers knew it too. The
school's reputation was at ___4___.
"We must have the necessary numbers, pupils ...
We must show that our school can beat the national ___5___
by a mile ... again !" gushed the principal.
However, the amount of work meant that Jenny,
along with her other classmates, had to slog until

the night, just to make sure that they had finished

it became mechanical.
The next day, bleary-eyed, the class of 6R1
walked into their class, dazed. It was time to check
the answers. In a jiffy, the teacher ___8___
her answers on the screen and it was time to see if
their answers matched the teacher's.

all the pupils laboriously circled their mistakes
and corrected them, clearly not understanding
anything at all ! The thirty pages were checked and
the teacher left the room, satisfied.

eyes open. The moment she entered her home, the

lying on a bed, in a ward. Her worried parents broke

"You have totally exhausted yourself, dear," her
mother began. Jenny could only see her mother's lips
moving rapidly. She was not paying attention. All

She was not going to school that day ! She was free

Jenny snuggled deeper into her ___14___.
Just as she was about to slip into a restful
slumber, the door opened and in came her two good
buddies, Anna and Tiara.
