Dr Chen was tired after a long day at the hospital. As he was driving home late that night, he saw a bright light in the sky. The light was moving about rapidly. At first, the doctor did not give very much thought to what he had seen. A little later, he realized that the light seemed to be following

Dr Chen pulled up to the side of the road. He got out of his car to take a better look at the light. When he looked up, he was amazed to see a large circular object above him. The object was spinning very quickly as it hovered about 20 meters from the ground. Not knowing what the object was, Dr Chen felt apprehensive. He rushed into his car and drove off in a hurry. He became more nervous when he noticed that the object continued to follow him. He stepped on the accelerator in an attempt to shake off the object but it too began to move faster. Dr Chen panicked when he found his car slowing down all of a sudden, for no apparent reason. Then it came to a halt. He turned the key in the ignition i order to restart the car but it was all in vain. The car just would not start ! He popped his head out of the window and saw that the flying object was above his car.

Dr Chen could not believe his eyes when he saw five aliens descending from the object which was bathed in a brilliant beam of light. He was paralysed with fear as they marched towards him. The aliens were rather small creatures, each less than a meter tall. they had rough, grey skin and small triangular heads. their eyes were large and slated. their mouths were but mere slits.

In a dazed state, Dr Chen found himself getting out of his car. the aliens gathered around the astonished man and spoke excitedly to him. However, he did not understand their language which sounded like gibberish to him. He made some hand signals indicating that he did not comprehend what they were trying to communicate. One of the aliens gave him a device to wear over his ears. It turned out to be a translator for Dr Chen discovered that he could understand the aliens speech now. He was requested to follow the aliens to the circular object which was their spacecraft.

In the spacecraft, Dr Chen was brought before the leader of the aliens.

"Your planet is in immense danger," the leader warned. "It is a matter of time before Earth is blown to pieces," he continued. "Countries will be at war with each other. Millions of people will perish when a devastating bomb is detonated. Survivors will suffer agonizing pain until death too claims them."

"How .. how do you know these things ?" Dr Chen asked, aghast. "How can I be sure that you are telling the truth ?"

"You are a good man, Dr Chen. My mission was to warn you of the imminent danger that will befall Earth. Whether you choose to believe me or not is of no interest to me. You can either help save your planet and your fellow men, or you can perish along with them. we will not interfere. It is not our battle. Remember, time is running out for Earth.

Before Dr Chen could say anything further, he found himself standing beside his car. How he got there without being aware of it was a mystery. he didn't know what to make out of the experience. When he looked the sky, he was shocked to see that the spacecraft had vanished without a trace.

"I must be more exhausted than I realized. Perhaps it was just a hallucination," he mumbled to himself as he got into the car.
