Carol clasped her hands to her ears and stared at her Physics textbook. She found that she could not concentrate. Her neighbors in the flat above hers were making far too much noise with their karaoke set. At the moment, a deep tenor voice was giving a rendition of Elvis Presley's 'Love me Tender'. Carol found herself humming to the tune of that song instead of studying.

At the end of the song, the people in the flat above clapped and cheered loudly.

"That's the last straw. I'm going upstairs to complain," Carol said to herself. She marched to the lift and stormed upstairs. Loud strains of the song 'Unchained Melody' could be heard. Carol pressed the doorbell several times but there was no reply. The music had drowned the sound of the ringing doorbell.

At the end of the song, Carol pressed the doorbell once again and yelled, "Open up!" Soon, the door creaked open. In the living room was a group of eight tough-looking men with tattoos on their arms. All of them eyed her sullenly.

"What do you want, girl?" one of them growled. "N-nothing, bye!" said Carol in fright. She ran back to her flat as fast as she could.
